The Last Flight Of Birddogs At Fort Rucker
Back To IBDA Home
|
Forrest Faulkner sent this
picture of the last flight of Birddogs
leaving Fort Rucker Alabama in July of 1971. This was a
historic
event and even a sad one. The Birddog had ruled the skies
over
Southern Alabama for many years as Fort Rucker produced so many
Birddog pilots that served the Army with courage and valor.
Forrest Faulkner was one of these pilots. In his message
to this
Webmaster Forrest wrote:
"This photo came out in the Southern Star paper this week in
Ozark
and thought you might take a look at history gone by, when
flying was still fun!"
Many of us would agree that indeed .. flying was fun in
those days.
